The Johnny Orr Band has come a long way over the years. Our current team as of 2012 consists of: Johnny Orr (lead vocals, main song writer, acoustic and electric guitars.) Gino Lattarulo (lead and backing vocals, electric guitars), Jack Getz (lead and backing vocals, bass guitar), Bill Eagen (Drums), Nathan Wayne (back up drummer, 2nd song writer), Dick Hodgin (Studio producer), Alan Lorden (Studio Producer), Claudia Black (Promoter, Personal assistant, Booking agent and more)
Johnny as a solo artist and the band as a whole have definitely made some noise around the area. Winning several competitions locally, and also all the way in Nashville Tennessee, they’ve become a sound and music machine to be recconed with. They have assounding harmonies, great list of cover songs, fantastic original material that’s absolutely reccognized by industry pro’s like Bob Moore (a living country legend and country music hall of famer that has decided that he wants to produce the bands latest material for labels). Everywhere this band plays has been asked after the performance, “When can you come back”? The great Bob Moore loves them so much, that he and the family members of the late June Carter Cash invited the band to perform in Nashville at Bob Moore’s birthday party in November of 2012. At that event, Bob approached the band about producing our next project in hopes of landing a deal. Bob performed on “The Gambler” from Kenny Rogers, “He stopped loving her today” from George Jones, “Crazy” from Patsy Cline, all of Elvis’s songs up to 1963, performed with Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Roy Orbison, and so many more. He’s a living legend. When he heard the band perform for the 1st time, he stood up out of his chair, cheered and gave a thumbs up and came over to Johnny to talk and get a card from him. It was soon after that, that Bob was asked by his wife Kittra who he wanted to perform at his coming birthday party, and he could have picked anyone in the industry, but he asked for the Johnny Orr Band. June Carter Cash’s family was involved in arranging the party at their place where Johnny Cash himself had performed just a few years before that for Herb Bennett. (Married to Lorrie Carter) This was a milestone for the band and has already changed their lives.
The Johnny Orr Band used to come pretty cheap around town when things were just steady as she goes. But in 2008 after opening for Kenny Chesney in front of 20,000 screaming fans, and then onto Zac Brown twice, Little Big Town, Jason Michael Carroll twice, Gretchen Wilson, Phil Vassar and many more, then the price went up. Especially now that Johnny Orr has won “American Country Star” in Nashville and has taken the area by storm, Johnny now commands a bigger paycheck for the band. “We’re not just some boys in Raleigh looking for a gig”, “We’re making history now” sais Johnny… “Break out your check-book”.
